Dr Shan NARUI STAMI Oslo, Norway

Dr Narui is Lead Research Professor and head of Department of Occupational Toxicology, at National Institute of Occupational Health (STAMI), Norway.

He did his PhD in molecular carcinogenesis with main focus on chemically induced genomic instability and susceptibility in lung cancer. After recieving his PhD,  he recieved a special training award from International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and did his postdoctoral training at IARC studying chemical carcinogenesis of lung and oral cancers.  His main research interests are understanding biological mechanisms of adverse effects of occpational exposures and how they  may cause occupational diseases including occupational cancer.

Dr Narui has led multiple national and international research projects, has coauthored 120+ scientific papers, has acted as a scientifc evaluater for WHO/IARC guideline and monograph documents, is member of  editorial board of a number of scientific journals and scientific societies (i.e international lung cancer consortium, EUROTOX). He is also a EUROTOX  registered toxicologist (ERT).
