Arunah Chandran, MD, MSc, MPH, DrPH

Dr Chandran is a Public Health Officer at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC/WHO). A medical doctor by training, she works at the intersection of health systems strengthening, public policy, and implementation research. In her current role, Dr Chandran leads design, implementation, and evaluation of cancer prevention and early detection initiatives to improve cancer outcomes globally. She has extensive experience working with governments and international partners to translate evidence into scalable, context-specific cancer control strategies across diverse health system settings. Her work emphasises equity-driven approaches, stakeholder engagement, and the integration of research into routine health system practice.
