Dr Andre Carvalho is Deputy Head of the Cancer Early Detection, Prevention and Infections Branch at IARC/WHO. An oncology surgeon with PhD in clinical research and an MPH, he has over 30 years’ experience spanning clinical care, public health, and health leadership. His work focuses on translating innovations and evidence-based interventions into scalable, affordable, public health programmes, with a strong emphasis on research for implementation and capacity building in resource-limited settings.
